An Epicurean Odyssey

Between 2009 and 2011, I spent two years of scribbling away writing a book. Not only is this my first book, but also due to all the current challenges and complications with publishing, I decided to go down the self publishing route via Lulu.com. Well my friends and fellow epicureans, it gives me great pleasure to announce that my book has now been published. From late Summer 2011 onwards my book is available for purchase online via Lulu.com. To order your copies from “The Roving Sommelier Store”, please click here.

Not only is “An Epicurean Odyssey” my first book, but also the first in a series. My aim is to write and publish a book within this genre every other year and each book will focus on a different country. Owing to my passion for and knowledge and experiences of New Zealand I have called it “An Epicurean Odyssey: A Road Trip Around New Zealand”.

The roving sommelier is the facilitator of liquid enjoyment and by sharing my knowledge, passion and stories, I will be your friendly tour guide on this epicurean odyssey. Essentially “An Epicurean Odyssey – A Road Trip Around New Zealand“ is a personalised journey through food and wine, embellished with many mouth-watering anecdotes, useful travel tips, tourist information, links to websites and more than 80 recipes and wine pairings. It will be your essential guide to New Zealand and a must-read for real foodies, wine lovers and enthusiastic travellers - all packed into less than 300 pages.

It also gives me great pleasure to announce that David Cox (European Director of New Zealand Wine) and legendary Kiwi chef Peter Gordon (The Providores Restaurant) have contributed a few choice words.

Here is a short roving sommelier video featuring target=”_blank”>David Cox.

A portion of my book sales will go towards the NZ Earthquake Appeal Fund.
