With regards to my roving sommelier consultancy and activities, a large slice of what I do is to provide wine advice, bespoke tastings, masterclasses and food and wine pairing ideas. In addition, a huge chunk of my website is devoted to mouth-watering wine reviews, tasting notes, delicious recipes, foodie experiences and interactive videos. I literally eat, drink and sleep food and wine. Many years ago I turned my hobby into my career. Moreover, as you may already be aware, I am rather fond of cooking too. When you look at it, I am actually quite a lucky person because over the years I have got to know and worked with some great people. In addition, many of the recipes on this blog are either very personal (from family and friends) and/or have been given to me by very high-profile, world-renowned chefs.
For this month’s competition, I am throwing the gates open with the aim of inviting a guest blogger to write regular articles on my site. Perhaps you are a CEO of a multi-national company working in Frankfurt, yet at the weekends love to graze around your local farmers’ markets for top-quality produce? Perhaps you are a budding domestic goddess living in Central London and inspired by the great Delia and Nigella to cook wonderful food of your own and of which you can be proud? Perhaps you are the next Niamh Shields or Signe Johannsen and regularly make home-cooked dishes, write about your foodie experiences and blog about recipes with prolific prowess? Perhaps you are living ‘out in the woop woops’ in New Zealand and love going fishing for choice whitebait and then cook them up into an amazingly simple, yet delicious fritter? Perhaps you are living in the ‘Deep South’ of USA and have a terrific recipe for ‘biscuits n gravy’ from your grandma?
Anyways, I think you get the picture? You may or may not be the next Elizabeth David or Nigel Slater, but I am prepared to offer you the opportunity to share your content on my site amongst my thousands of readers and followers for three months. All you have to do to enter into this ‘competition’ is:
- Have passion for cooking and the desire to enthusiastically write and communicate about it
- Have a good selection of recipes and want to share them with others.
- Have a good selection of foodie stories and want to share them with others.
To enter, please contact me and submit a sample recipe from your repertoire and explain why you would like to be the roving sommelier guest food blogger (in no more than 50 words). In addition, please feel free to post a caption on the photo (above, of me tucking into a juicy oyster). Get your creative thinking caps on peeps! Please note: the deadline to enter the competition is June 30th 2012. The final entries will then be reviewed and judged and the winner will be announced in July 2012.
The winner will also receive a mixed case of 6 aromatic white wines from Little Beauty vineyard in Marlborough, New Zealand.
